the morning after a thunderstorm

Isn’t it wonderful when a thunderstorm raising after a clear and very hot day?
And in the next morning when the air evaporated from moisture and you stands before another hot day?

It reminded me of
childhood,
swimming pool,
free of heat in the school,
at night without blankets and the window wide open.
On cherries,
on ice,
on the smell of sun cream,
at come home only when it gets dark.
On holiday.

MondayTrip – ChileVII

Back in Santiago de Chile – and again without a car I waiting for the next adventure: a train ride of 24 hours.
500 km from Santiago to Puerto Varas.
On the train I had a sleeping compartment – and there is even a compartment servant who prepared the bed at night, and a dining compartment.
The journey took me from a very dry and hot area, in a moist and cool area.

I remember  Puerto Varas  as a beautiful city. With many colorful wooden houses and a landscape that looks like Germany or Switzerland.
It was very green, and there are brown and white cows like at home and flowering rhododendron.
Puerto Varas is located in the Región des los Lagos and on the south bank of the Lago Llangquihue.
From the town you can see the Volcano Osorno.

I stayed here for several days and made several trips. One took me to the Rio Petrohué and the falls of the Lagos Todos los Santos.
The falls plunge 20 meters in depth.
A fantastic view.

Another trip took me to the north of the island of Chiloé.
Even there it is very humid and above all very green. It rains a lot. Here I especially like the colorful houses.
On the island I have eaten oysters the first and the only time.
Slimy, but good taste.

CornerView – vegetable

The theme – vegetable.
I can show you the vegetables that I buy every week for cooking.
But you already know, because you buy it also.
I prefer to show you the garden of my friends.
For vegetables, it is still too early, but I can tell you, there will be lots of vegetables and then lots of delicious food.
On my last visit to the vegetables were still too small, or just the germs, but there was an abundance of beautiful flowers.
And I would like to show you.

MondayTrip – Chile VI

Today, a brief look at the roads that I ride in the back country.
Crushed stone and gravel, dust, and sometimes very little visibility.
Often no signs of the roads, but always nice people  have always helped – despite my lack of language skills.
Sometimes there was nothing to look at for hours, sometimes unexpectedly, the landscape green.
But ALWAYS a poignant and vastness.

CornerView – animals

Our Frieda is the only animal that lives with us. But sometimes also our Frieda have a visit.
Most of the visit is only for an afternoon.
Then play the dog and the owner can chat over a coffee.
Last Frieda was visited by another dog for three nights.
It is interesting to observe how dogs communicate and live. Sometimes the two were playing together,
But most of the time was every dog has its own way. Peaceful. They ate in a room they slept in a room.

This is Bounty, a young man.

MondayTrip – Chile V

After I said goodbye to San Pedro de Atacama, I flew back to Santiago de Chile.
There I borrowed for the next ten days a car. For road conditions, there was a small and a little inappropriate car.
Because out of the capital from the large two-lane Pan-American Highway was often a one-lane gravel road.
My goal was La Serena, a city north of Santiago de Chile.

The main street of the country was interesting to drive.
It was not what I had imagined, and there was less traffic than I thought.
A couple of trucks, many building sites, a few stops, a few places, small and the houses were made of boards.
On the roadside there are many dealers – fruit, vegetables, cheese, bread and drinks.
And sometimes people sell something undefinable. Animals already dead nailed to a board, which the dealers keep in the air when a car comes down.
At the roadside goats and donkeys eating the lean grass.
On the way many meadows are burned to be more prosperous.
And there is the impression that you go through a black steppe.

For dinner I went to a shop in the interior. Most interestingly, a small place where live a few people.
But when I shopped, they came all to the shop. Silently they watched what I bought.
Not aggressive, just interested in who visits the small village.

The first stop I made at a campsite by the sea.
Very nice, with wooden benches, barbecue grills, funny chicken, many dogs and a stick insect (which had frightened me, because I had not expected). :)

Next I visited the National Park Fray George. Amidst the barren thorns and cactus desert a true spectacle of nature.
Dense fog rain forest with lush vegetation. Beautiful.
